Maharlikang Pilipino was founded by Dr. Nonie Azarcon & Greg Palacio in the Philippines in 1992. The objective is to discover talents in the fields of Entertainment, Modeling, and Acting. Maharlikang Pilipino has produced the likes of Isko Moreno, now a politician and Law student at Pamantasan ng Maynila, Gardo Verzosa an actor and ramp model.

Danny Pagsambugan was authorized to conduct a search in 2004.  With a short preparation of 3 months, he was able to put a good Fashion Show as one of the highlights during the first search here in the East Coast under the helm of top designers from the Philippines Barge Ramos & Frederick Peralta, an international award winning designer who topped the competition in Paris 3 years in a row.

Albert Kristopher Diaz - 2004 Maharlikang Pilipino USA, Christian Nyquist - MP Mindanao represented the East Coast in the Grand Finals in the Philippines held at the Wow Philippines, Intramuros, Manila on June 30, 2004 and bagged 4-special awards: Face of the Night, Mr. Photogenic, Maharlika ng Gabi, Best in Costumes. Both Albert Kristopher Diaz & Christian Nyquist were among the Top 5 finalists. They were offered to do a Modeling but their priorities were to finish schooling so they will resume it this year as their school has ended.

Engr. Danny C. Pagsambugan - Executive Producer of Maharlikang Pilipino USA and Mutya ng Pilipinas East Coast, has religiously continued the search and is now on its second year. Finals will be on March 5, 2005 at the Sheraton Hotel, Meadowlands, NJ. The winners will compete in the grand finals in the Philippines in July 2005.

On March 2004, Kimberly Ponio who is residing in Manhattan, New York, founded the Philippine Pearl Pageant.  She was inspired by Miss Asia Pacific Quest, Inc. in Manila and the Binibining Pilipinas of the World Organization in Toronto Canada, both well-known pageant institutions that serve as benefactors for civic and charitable organizations and is known for staging national and international pageants.

Since 1999, Ms. Ponio has been with Binibining Pilipinas of the World as the International Pageant Director and Consultant. With its 16 year anniversary on August 2005, Binibining Pilipinas of the World Pageant is taking their pride as one of the longest running multi-cultural pageant in North America.

The Philippine Pearl Pageant through Ms. Ponio, is the sole authorized organizer of the Mutya ng Pilipinas in the East Coast of the United States of America, principally in the City of New York, and is affiliated with Miss Asia Pacific Quest Inc. (MAPQI), which is the first Filipino initiated International Beauty Pageants in the Philippines.  It is the registered trademark and/or trade name owner of Mutya ng Pilipinas and the Miss Asia Pacific International.

The Philippine Pearl Pageant's goal is to recognize the young exceptional Filipino women of the East Coast through their talents, achievements and beauty as the luminous gems of the Philippines; and to promote and enhance their culture and heritage, the friendship and tourism between the Philippines and the United States. They most importantly serve as the benefactors of civic and charitable organizations in Manila, Philippines.

The Philippine Pearl Pageant conducted a monthly personality development training with its candidates on November 2004. They were taught poise, good posture, skin and beauty tips, confidence and our Philippine culture, heritage, and the Bible. Most importantly, our organization, the candidates and their families bonded and had a great relationship as one big family.

THE MISS PHILIPPINE PEARL MAJOR TITLES:

1. MUTYA NG PILIPINAS EAST COAST USA 2005
- The winner is heading for national competition in Manila on June 4, 2005 to vie for Mutya ng Pilipinas title and a million pesos, leading for Miss Asia Pacific Quest, an international competition with more than 40 countries participating.

2. QUEEN OF CHARITY 2005
- The winner will be sent to Philippines to serve as the Ambassador of Goodwill for our 2005 Pageant Beneficiary, The Bantay Bata Organization. Also, she will support the winner of Maharlikang Pilipino USA to Cabanatuan City to his mission for the victim of Yoyong typhoon last year.

3. BINIBINING PILIPINAS OF THE WORLD EAST COAST USA 2005
- The winner will compete for Toronto on August 2005 to vie for Binibining Pilipinas of the World title. Their winners are sent to Philippines to be their Ambassador of Goodwill and for Miss Petite International that is annually held in Texas, USA. This pageant is competition to all Filipino descent all over the world.

4. MISS ASIA WORLD EAST COAST USA
- The winner will compete for Toronto on November 2005. It is an international competition for all Asians. Their winners will serve as their Ambassador of Goodwill.
