PIDCI Grand Marshal 2009

Dr. Teofila Malanum Santos

Silent water runs deep is the metaphor that describes Dr. Teofila Malanum Santos. Her philanthropy and compassion ran deep but she never flaunted it with public pronouncements and press releases. Fely, as everybody calls her, has been in the thick of innumerable civic, community and spiritually oriented undertakings and has received numerous awards and credits for her professional and humanitarian work. Unquestionably, she is a good role model for Filipinos both here and abroad.

Dr. Teofila Malanum Santos was born and raised in Manaoag, Pangasinan, married to Dr. Ricardo Santos, and the couple has a daughter, Jennie also in the medical field.

Her most recent involvement in PIDCI events was when she was recruited to co-chair the Grand Marshal Gala in 2008. She led the intensive fundraising effort that resulted, in the huge success of the gala and the other celebratory events and projects for the entire commemoration.
