In September of 1986 Liam Adreil was born in Zamboanga City,
Philippines. Liam began to sing almost as soon as he began to talk.
Almost everyone in his extensive family had a musical talent of some
sort( including his maternal Grandmother Gloria Fernandez, who sang was
a cantor in her church.) Not many in Liam's Family knew that God had
blessed him with a special talent to sing; the only person who helped
nurture Liam's gift from the beginning was his Grandmother Lourdes
Barredo. At the age of five The Barredo Family uprooted to America, it
was there where Liam began to show his talents.
His father love of Soul Music and Jazz began to rub off on Liam and
soon he began to develop his signature sound. Liam's Strong Faith in God
also influenced his singing, Gospel Music played a great role in the way
Liam Barredo Sings till this day. Liam's Filipino roots have influenced
his singing as
well. Since Liam only speaks the dialect of Chavacano, his only
method
of learning Tagalog is through Music. At the age of 14, Liam
was accepted into the Visual Performing Arts High School of Jersey City.
It was there that he began a love affair with Classical Music.
Performing
the works of Mozart, Schumann, Bach. Schubert and Faure(all under the
direction of his mentor Hector Hernandez); help the young man further
develop his musicality. His Talent for singing has brought him to the
Country of Germany where he performed for many public dignitaries. In
his final year of high school, was awarded Vocalist of the Year for the
3rd and final time. Fast forward to late 2006 his 2nd semester as
Classical Vocal Performance major at NJCU, where Liam was awarded the
leading role in the schools main Opera Production.
Liam's Vocal Ability is not only limited to the Soul and Gospel Music
that he embodies but also in the Classic Work that he studies; his style
is all his own.
